Dr Fr Saju Chackalackal

Fr. Saju Chackalackal CMI is a distinguished academician, philosopher and author. Born on 21 February 1965, he is an Indian author and Professor of Philosophy at Dharmaram Vidya Kshetram. A renowned Kantian scholar, he obtained his PhD in Philosophy from Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas, Italy.   

Fr. Saju Chackalackal has held several important positions, including Chief Editor of the Journal of Dharma. He has authored numerous books and scholarly articles and was instrumental in developing course materials for Indira Gandhi National Open University.

Dr Fr Joseph C C

Vice Chancellor, Dr Fr Joseph C C, CMI, has a MA in history from Maharaja Sayajirao University, Baroda, Gujarat and a PhD from Pondicherry University, Pondicherry. He has been working with CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore, in various capacities since 1996. A Professor of History, and an active researcher, he has served as the Pro-Vice Chancellor and Director of many Centres of the University. He has attended academic programmes across countries such as Sri Lanka, Thailand, Singapore, China, Italy, Belgium, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, and USA. He is deeply committed to innovations in teaching learning, research, student experience, leadership development and internationalization of the University. 

Dr Fr Viju P D

Dr Fr Viju P D, CMI, graduated from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, and obtained his MPhil and PhD degrees from Bharathiar University, Tamil Nadu. He has been contributing to the development of CHRIST (Deemed to be University) in various capacities since 2006 as the Director of Admissions, Students Affairs, and Centre for Counselling and Health Services. He was the founding Director and Dean of CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Delhi NCR Campus. Presently, he is a Professor in the Department of Psychology and serves as the Pro-Vice Chancellor and the Director of Student Services of the University.

He was a United Board Fellow at International Christian University, Tokyo, Japan in 2009 and at Gonzaga University, Washington, USA, in 2010. His research interests are areas of adolescent development, psycho-social competence, psycho-spiritual interventions and leadership skills.

Dr Anil Joseph Pinto

Dr Anil Joseph Pinto did his masters in English literature. His MPhil dissertation was on Konkani literature and PhD on the self-translations of Girish Karnad. His research interests include translation studies, self-translations, Konkani literature, history of higher education, and digital culture. His articles have been published in English, Kannada and Konkani. Dr Pinto serves as the Registrar and Professor in the Department of Performing Arts, Theatre Studies and Music at CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Bangalore, India. He was the Coordinator of the Centre for Publications of the University which publishes six peer-reviewed journals and books in Kannada and English. He has been a United Board Fellow and Visiting Scholar at Baylor University, Texas, USA and Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong. He serves on the Governing Boards of Universities and Colleges.

Dr Jyothi Kumar

Prof. Jyothi Kumar, who holds a BCom, MBA, MPhil (Management), and a PhD in Management, has been a distinguished faculty member and academic leader at the University since 2000. She has held significant leadership roles, notably serving as the Founding Dean of the Bangalore Bannerghatta Road Campus and as the Director of the Teaching Learning Enhancement Cell.

Prof. Kumar's extensive experience includes attending the Higher Education Leadership and Administration programme at the Graduate School of Education, Harvard University, USA, and at Singapore Management University, Singapore; serving as a Fellow at Hong Kong Baptist University; and conducting academic visits and building academic collaborations with universities in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. With a strong focus on research in Organisational Sustainability, Skill Development, Microfinance, and Women Leadership, she has supervised PhDs and provided consultancy to major corporate organisations.

Dr Fr Varghese K J

Dr Fr Varghese K J, CMI, a catholic religious priest ordained in the year 1996. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Mysore, Karnataka, and a PhD in Psychology from University of Mysore, Karnataka.

He brings a unique blend of financial expertise and educational background to his role.

His association with CHRIST University dates back to 1998, where he has served in various capacities, showcasing his commitment and dedication to the institution. During the period 2004 to 2008, he served as the Finance Officer of the then Christ College and Christ College (Autonomous). Subsequently, he held the position of Chief Finance Officer from 2008 to 2017, playing a pivotal role in the university's development during this period. From 2017-2023 he served for two consecutive terms as the Provisional Superior of the CMI Mysore Province. He also held the position as the Director of Bangalore Bannerghatta Campus, CHRIST (Deemed to be University).

In addition to his administrative roles, Dr Fr Varghese has actively engaged in research projects, having undertaken national and international projects. Furthermore, his scholarly contributions include the publication of international and national papers and books. He was also granted a fellowship from the United Board of Christian Higher Education, USA.

Dr Vijayasankar A V

Dr Vijayasankar A V has a BSc, MSc, MPhil and PhD in Chemistry. His research interests are in Heterogeneous Catalysis, Traditional Medicines, Drug Synthesis, Advanced Material Synthesis, and Organic Fine Chemical Synthesis. At CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bangalore, he serves as a research supervisor, guiding PhD scholars in the areas of material science and chemistry. He has an impressive publication record in high impact journals.

Dr Vijayasankar A V currently serves as the Controller of Examinations and a Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Sciences and Humanities, School of Engineering and Technology, CHRIST (Deemed to be University).

Dr Georgy P Kurien

Prof Georgy Kurien joined Christ University in 2024 as a Professor of Operations and Supply Chain Management. Later, he served as the Associate Dean of the School of Business and Management, leading the MBA Programme.

Before his academic career, Lt Col. Georgy Kurien served with distinction in the Indian Army as a commissioned officer. His 21-year military journey was marked by a series of significant roles and responsibilities, including Officer Commanding of various Army Units in operations, Joint Director (Information Systems) at Army Headquarters Delhi, instructor at military training institutes for officers and Deputy Director at the Integrated Headquarters of Defence, Delhi. He had a tenure with DRDO (Defence Research and Development Organisation).

Dr Georgy Kurien obtained his B.Tech from TKM College of Engineering Quilon, M. E. from the University of Pune, Ph D from the M S University of Baroda and PG in Business Management from XLRI Jamshedpur. He is also an alumnus of the Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun; Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) Pune, and College of Defence Management, Secunderabad.

When he was a student, Georgy Kurien was awarded the President Scout Award by the president of India Dr Kurien is also an alumnus and faculty member of the Haggai Institute International. His research interests are in Supply Chain Performance Measurement, Sustainable Business Models and Terramechanics, where he has published well-cited research papers in reputed scientific journals.

Dr Fr Jossy P George

Dr. Jossy P. George is a distinguished leader in Computer Science and Human Resources, renowned for his contributions to education, research, and skill development.

He holds a dual master's degree in Computer Science and Human Resources and completed his FDPM from IIM, Ahmedabad. Awarded a Doctorate in Computer Science from Christ University. He specialized in Image Processing with a thesis titled “Development of Efficient Biometric Recognition Algorithms Based on Fingerprint and Face.” An active member of various international associations.  Dr. George has authored morethan 100 Scopus-indexed publications in prestigious national and international journals. A prolific writer, he has penned two motivational books on management and co-authored several others, including Data Ethics and Challenges (Springer Briefs in Applied Sciences and Technology). His commitment to academic excellence earned him the Visionary Leader of 2019 & 2024 award.

Dr. George’s expertise extends beyond research, with multiple patents and copyrights to his name. A respected member of prestigious Computer Science associations, he has been associated with Christ University since 2002, playing a pivotal role in its growth and transformation. He served as the Dean and Director of Christ University, Lavasa (Pune) for 10 years and led the Delhi campus for two years.

Currently, Dr. George is the Director of Center for Online Education, CHRIST (Deemed to be University).

Dr Ashok Immanuel V

Dr. Ashok Immanuel V completed his BSc in Physics from Loyola College, Chennai. He holds a Masters in Computer Applications and an MPhil in Computer Science. He earned his Ph.D. in Context Aware Systems (Ubiquitous Computing) at CHRIST University. Since joining the Computer Science Department in 2005, Dr. Ashok has served in multiple roles, including Coordinator of Information Technology (Software) and Coordinator of Admissions. In April 2022, he became Head of the Computer Science Department at the Central Campus.

A passionate programmer, he developed scripts for Google Meet and WebEx during the pandemic, automating thousands of admission interviews. He has also contributed to developing the university's in-house ERP and introduced tablet-based admission score entries. Dr. Ashok established the Computer Science Research Centre, focusing on Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Extended Reality, and Drones. As a speaker, he has delivered numerous talks at conferences, including at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). He has developed various software solutions for the university, including mobile apps for exam attendance and interview score entry. His contributions have modernized several processes, including the introduction of Smart Cards and the creation of the CHRIST Programmes app.
