The postgraduate course in Applied Economics is the flagship programme of the department of economics with intensive specialisations in areas of finance and development. The uniqueness of the programme is the judicious blend of economic theory accounting for interdisciplinarity and empirical measurement tools. Industrial exposure through internships and visits, mastery in scientific analysis through advanced quantitative methods, statistics, econometrics along with engagements in theory such as in Gender Economics,Ethics and Economics, Agricultural Economics and so on and latest soft skills make students competent to take up the most challenging careers in business, industry, public sector and advanced academic research. The programme spanning four semesters intends to impart the necessary skills and capabilities to meet the challenges of the everchanging vibrant economic environment
Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have passed the Undergraduate degree examination with 50 % aggregate marks from any recognised University in India or abroad recognised by UGC / AIU are eligible to apply.

Students appearing for their final degree examinations in March-June 2025 are also eligible to apply (Applicants who are in the last year of their studies should have secured 50% or above aggregate in all the Semesters / Years of Undergraduate Examinations conducted so far).

Application Process for Master of Arts (Applied Economics)
Register once to apply for multiple programs with the same ID.
- Fill in your details: Enter your name, email, mobile number, state, city, programme, course, and captcha. Verify your details before submitting. Click 'Register' to complete.
- Validate Email: You will receive a validation email. Check your inbox or spam folder, enter the OTP, and click 'Proceed'. If needed, click 'Resend Verification Email'.
- Login with your credentials: Use your registered email ID and password to log in. Enter them correctly in the respective fields.
- Click on the Login button: After entering your details, click on the 'Login' button.
- Forgot password: If you forgot your password, click on the 'Forgot Password' button and follow the necessary steps to reset it.
- Select the program and campus to which you want to apply. Ensure all data is correct before proceeding, as it cannot be edited later.
- Upload a formal photo (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm with white background, max 100 kb). Photos with other backgrounds or taken with mobile devices will result in rejection.
- Fill in personal, educational, and parent/guardian details. Upload clear scanned copies of class 10 and class 11 final report or class 12 Board result.
- Preview and ensure the accuracy of all information before submitting.
- Select the date and centre for the selection process. Refer to the Important Dates section before making a selection.
- Payment Methods: Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI.
- Non-Refundable: The application fee is non-refundable once the application number is generated.
- Payment Failure: In case of payment failure, the amount will be refunded within 15 business days.
- Printing the Application: A copy of the application can be printed anytime until the selection process is completed.
